COMPOSITION:

Each 100 gm contains Amoxicillin trihydrate 32.30 gm Equivalent to 30 gm Amoxycillin base.
Excipients up to 100 Gm.

MODE OF ACTION:

Amoxicare has a bactericidal action against sensitive organisms during the active multiplication stage. It works by the inhibition of the biosynthesis of cell wall mucopeptides.

ANTIMICROBIAL SPECTRUM:

Act against Gram +ve bacteria .

PROPERTIES:

Broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic.
Amoxicillin predominantly inhibits side-wall synthesis in susceptible bacteria by blocking the synthesis of mureine (peptidglycan layer ). This structure gives the wall its strength and permits it to resist the high intracellular osmotic pressure. Mureine consists of linear chains of alternating N-acetyl glucosamine and N-acetyl muramic-acid,which are linked transversally with short peptide chains.
Amoxicillin has good absorption and widely distributed in all tissues. It is mainly eliminated through the urine in its active form.
Amoxicillin competitively inhibits the enzyme transpeptidase ,necessary for the transversal linking .In consequence ,the side-wall of the growing bacteria loses solidity and can not longer resist the increasing pressure from inside the cell .This leads to rupture of the cytoplasmic membrane through the weakened section and formation of a spherophast. Bursting of the spheroplast and lysis of the cell follow .
Amoxicillin affects growing cells and has little effect on dormant bacteria (those in the resting phase ).
It is active against gram positive organisms such as Staphylococci that do not produce penicillanase, Streptococci, Corynebacteria, Clostridia, Actinomyces spp., Bacillus anthracis, Listeria monocytogenes and gram negative organism such as Proteus mirabilis, Pasteurella spp., Haemophilus spp.,Actinobacillus spp., Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Moraxella spp. and Fusobacterium.

Chickens & Turkeys.

INDICATIONS:

Indicated for the treatment of infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to amoxicillin .

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

For oral administration by mixing with drinking water.20 mg of amoxicillin /kg body weight / day for 5 days in 2 administrations. Dilution at 1 g of Amoxicare per 3 L of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.

WARNING& PRECAUTIONS:

Keep this and all medication out of reach of children.
For Veterinary use only .
To be used by Veterinary Prescription Order.
Restricted dose must be followed .
The medicated drinking water should be prepared fresh daily.
During treatment use the medicated water as only source for drinking.
The drinking fountains have to be cleaned and disinfected in order to prevent reinfections .
Do not administer to animals hypersensitive to penicillin.
Not for use in hens producing eggs for human food.

Store in dark place, away from direct sunlight under dry conditions at or below 25°C.
