COMPOSITION:

A yellow tablet with a typical ovaloid bolus shape deeply scored on one face.
Each tablet contains oxytetracycline HCL 500 mg.

MODE OF ACTION:

Oxytetracycline inhibits cell growth by inhibiting translation. It binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit and prevents the amino-acyl tRNA from binding to the A site of the ribosome. The binding is reversible in nature. Oxytetracycline is lipophilic and can easily pass through the cell membrane or passively diffuses through porin channels in the bacterial membrane.

ANTIMICROBIAL SPECTRUM:

Act against Gram-ve and gram +ve bacteria.

PROPERTIES:

Oxytetracycline HCL is a broad-spectrum bacteristatic antibiotic from tetracyclines.
Oxytetracycline HCL acts by inhibiting protein synthesis.
Oxytetracycline HCL is quickly absorbed with high serum level and rapid distribution.
Oxytetracycline HCL is active against gram +ve and gram -ve bacteria, like chlamydia, mycoplasma, rickettsia, Actinobacillus spp., Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., and Streptococcus spp. and some protozoal diseases.

TARGET SPECIES:

Calves, lambs and Foals

INDICATIONS:

Calves, lambs & Foals:

Infectious diarrhea & scours.
Bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy.
Septicemia.
Wounds and septic inflammation.
Urogenital tract infections.

DOSAGE:

For all species of animal 10 – 20 mg / kg body weight daily by oral route.

Treatment should be continued at least one day after recovery.

Body weight dose:

50 kg 1 - 2 tablets

100 kg 2 - 4 tablets

200 kg 4 - 8 tablets

300 kg 6 - 12 tablets

WARNING& PRECAUTIONS:

Keep out of reach of children.

To be used by Veterinary Prescription Order.
Restricted dose must be followed .
Dosage should continue until the animal returns to normal and for 24–48 hours after symptoms have subsided.
Not for use in animals of active rumen.
Tooth discoloration in newly born animals during tooth development may occur .
