IVERMECTIN INJ.

ANTHELMINTICRUMINANTS

VETGREEN Co.

COMPOSITION:

Each 100 ml contains:

  • Ivermectin 1 Gm .

  • Excipient up to 100 Ml

MODE OF ACTION:

Ivermectin binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate muscle and nerve cells of the microfilaria. This binding causes an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions and results in hyperpolarization of the cell, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. Ivermectin also is believed to act as an agonist of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), thereby disrupting GABA-mediated central nervous system (CNS) neurosynaptic transmission. Ivermectin may also impair normal intrauterine development of O. volvulus microfilariae and may inhibit their release from the uteri of gravid female worms.

ANTHHELMINTIC SPECTRUM:

nematodes, lung worms, cestodes, trematodes, external parasite .

PROPERTIES:
  • Ivermectin is a semisynthetic anthelminitic.

  • Ivermectin is an avermectin which a group of pentacyclic sixteen-membered lactone (i.e. a macrocyclic lactone disaccharide)

  • Ivermectin half-life period is 16 hours also reported at 22:28 hours .

  • Ivermectin very fast distributed from the site of injection and high concentrations of the drug are sustained in the tissues for long periods.

  • Ivermectin and /or its metabolites are mostly excreted through the liver in the feces (98%:99%) over an estimated 12 days and (1:2 %) of the administered dose excreted in the urine.

  • GREELEC is used for elimination of internal and external parasites.

  • GREELEC has an acceptable safety margin of greater than 30 times the recommended dose in cattle.

  • GREELEC has on teratogenic or embryotoxic effects in any of the species tested.

  • GREELEC acts with an unique mode of action and is structurally different from the presently available parasiticdes, so cross-resistance with any other antiparasitic agents is unlikely.

  • GREELEC when comes in contact with the soil, it has no polluting effect on the environment.
