NOMYCO

ERYTHROMYCIN PHOSPHATE 26%

ANTIBIOTICSPOULTRY

VETGREEN Co.

COMPOSITION:

Each 100 gm contains:

  • Erythromycin phosphate 26 Gm Equivalent to Erythromycin base 23.12 Gm.

  • Excipients up to 100 gm.

MODE OF ACTION:

Erythromycin inhibits proteins synthesis by binding to the 50s subunit of the bacterial 70s rRNA complex, protein synthesis and subsequent structure and function processes critical for life or replication are inhibited. Erythromycin interferes with aminoacyl translocation, preventing the transfer of the tRNA bound at the A site of the rRNA complex to the P site of the rRNA complex. Without this translocation, the A site remains occupied and, thus, the addition of an incoming tRNA and its attached amino acid to the nascent polypeptide chain is inhibited. This interferes with the production of functionally useful proteins, which is the basis of this antimicrobial action.

ANTIMICROBIAL SPECTRUM:

Act against Gram +ve bacteria .

PROPERTIES:
  • Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic.

  • Active against gram +ve bacteria.

  • Erythromycin is usually a bacteriostatic agent, but in high concentrations or against highly susceptible organisms it may be bactericidal.

  • Orally administered erythromycin is well absorbed from upper small intestine, diffuses readily into most body fluids and tissues including the prostate, macrophages, and leukocytes and can crosses the placental barrier.

  • Erythromycin is largely bound to plasma proteins, ranging from 75 - 95% binding depending on the form.

  • Liver metabolizes most of Erythromycin and some excreted in milk and in the urine.

  • Erythromycin has a bactericidal activity especially at higher concentrations

  • Erythrocure active against many gram +ve and gram -ve bacteria like Staphylococci, Streptococci , Bacillusanthracis ,Corynebacterium, Clostridium spp., Listeria, Erysipelothrix , Haemophilus, Neisseria, Pasturella, Brucella, Actinomyces , Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Ureaplasma, Rickettsia and Treponema pallidum.
